Nick Passarelli RN
Founder/CEO
Nick started his career caring for people at the age of 16 years old, as an orderly, and went on to become the Director of Nursing Services in the states largest Skilled Nursing Facility.

He is a Registered Nurse, Licensed Nursing Home Administrator and a Certified Integrated Chronic Care Coordinator. After working as a Nursing Home Administrator for several years he founded Phenix Home Care in 1991, with the primary focus on keeping clients in their homes for as long as they choose to be. Appointed by Governor Bruce Sundlun to the States Nursing Assistant Advisory Board in 1992 he assisted in the writing of many rules and regulations regarding Nursing Assistant Scope of Practice in Rhode Island.

With over 40 years experience in Caring for the states elderly and chronically ill, of all ages, his focus continues to be on maintaining wellness, providing the highest possible quality of care and keeping the client at home.

 

Darlene Amalfatano RN, BSN, MSN, ONCB
Nursing Director

Darlene has been a Registered Nurse for 28 years; she began her career as a CNA working at St. Joseph Hospital while in Nursing School. Darlene is a graduate of St. Joseph Hospital School of Nursing and continued her employment at Fatima Hospital working part time.  She continued her education and completed a Bachelor of Science Program in Nursing.  She took some time away from school to get married and raise a family and then returned to school to obtain a Teaching Certificate to become a School Nurse Teacher. She was fortunate enough to obtain a position as a School Nurse Teacher where she has been for the last 12 years.

In 2008 Darlene began a Masters Program in Nursing with a concentration in Public Health this is when she began her relationship with Phenix/Coventry Home Care. Over the years while working at Phenix/Coventry Home Care she has expanded her role to include home visits, coordination and teaching of the CNA program as well as in service education.  As Director of Nursing Darlene also oversees and supervises RN’s, CNA’s and homemakers, manages clients data, reviews medical records and reports to upper level staff members.

Darlene is a Certified Orthopedic Nurse, and a Certified Geriatric Resource Nurse,  a member of St. Joseph Hospital School of Nursing Alumni Association and a member of the Rhode Island Certified School Nurse Teacher Association.

 

Desi Santurri, CNA
Office Manager

Desi started her career at Phenix Home Care in 2001 as a Certified Homemaker. Her hard work and dedication were soon recognized and she was invited to apply to our State Certified and Nationally Accredited Nursing Assistant Training Program. She graduated from our program and passed her state certification in April of 2001. After 5 years of providing superb care to our clients Desi was asked to join our Office Staff in 2006. She now functions as our Office Manager, coordinates care to our clients and recruits staff.
